Cruise liners flock to Cape Town

Cape Town gears up to welcome 7,000 passengers and crew at the Cape Town Cruise Terminal, which is managed by the V&A Waterfront, this weekend.

On the 24th of February, the Costa Deliziosa arrived in the Port of Cape Town with 1,554 passengers, as part of their 115-day roundtrip itinerary to Rome

On 25 February the port welcomes the Artania, which will arrive with 1,024 passengers from East London before heading on a 10-day voyage to Dakar

MSC Sinfonia is arriving on the same day, bringing 1,848 passengers from Walvis Bay before departing on a 2-day “cruise to nowhere” from Cape Town

This season so far (October – End Jan) has already seen a great number of ships arriving, with almost 75,000 passengers passing through the port of Cape Town to date.

The cruise sector holds a strong economic significance for Cape Town, which looks forward to welcoming more visitors to our shores for the remainder of this bumper season.
